Itinerary Detail
Day 1 Arrive Cochin Arrive Cochin, on arrival you will be met & transferred to hotel. Arrive & check-in at hotel. Afternoon city tour covering Jewish Synagogue – Built in 1568 the oldest synagogue in the commonwealth stands, adorned by hundreds of exquisite hand - painted Chinese tiles in blue & white. St. Francis church Originally, built out of wood in 1503 and thus earning fame as the oldest European church in India. Vasco de gama was buried there. Dutch Palace – As you climb its stone steps, you enter a different world of Palanquins and heraldry, jewels and rich murals. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2 & Day 3 Cochin > Alleppy (60 kms / 1.5 hrs) [B] Drive to Alleppey, where you will onboard the traditionally decorated houseboats, you will start a 02 nights back water cruise which will end on morning of Day 4 at Kumarakom.
About Houseboat: The spectacular beauty of Kerala's backwaters needs no introduction. The backwaters is an elaborate chain of lagoons, lakes & rivers, spread like a necklace through central Kerala and found nowhere else in the world. So the cruise offers excellent opportunity to see the lifestyles of local people living along the large sections of the backwaters of Kerala.
The Kettuvallam (House Boat in Kerala) is a large floating structure with high loading carrying capacity was a part of Kerala's culture and heritage over the past years. Houseboats could sail harnessing wild energy. A journey through the lagoon is interesting, passing through sleepy villages, busy boat jetties and vibrant celebrations. The boat glides across the shimmering blue waters with gorgeous green and fringed edges.
Day 4 Kumarakom > Cochin (60 Kms / 01.5 Hrs) [B] [Departure] After breakfast, transfer to Cochin. Arrive Cochin & transferred to the airport / railway station for your flight / train to back home.

These trips are priced assuming two travelers. Surcharges for solo travelers and discounts for groups, if any, will be applied. Prices assume itinerary is purchased "as is". Minor changes to hotels or hotel add-ons to the beginning or the end of the existing itinerary can be made at no extra charge. All prices do not include international airfare, unless otherwise noted.
