Nestling in a side valley of the Indus, about 10 kms. from the main course of the river, is Leh, the most important town in Ladakh. Spread over dusty mountainsides with a main street and narrow winding by-lanes, Leh has a distinct character that transports you back in time. The old palace perched on a hilltop guards flat roof houses and the main bazaar. A major trading point where caravans came in from distant lands of Yarkand, Kashgar, Tibet, Kashmir and northern India, Leh's markets once bustled with activity. Locals sold tea, salt, wool and semi-precious stones to the caravans that stopped enroute to the cities of Central Asia.

Day 1:: Delhi > Leh [B, D]
Early morning depart for Leh by Jet airways, Leh is a historic town that served as the royal capital of the Old Kingdom, on arrival transfer to hotel, free yourself for acclimatization. Evening at leisure, overnight at hotel.

Day 2:: Leh [B, D]
Breakfast at hotel, Visit Leh Palace and Stok Palace, Leh palace is the nine-storey palace built by King Singge Namgyal in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture, just across the river from Leh lies Stok Palace, where the royal family now lives, houses a museum of artifacts associated with the dynasty, Overnight at hotel.

Sightseeing of Major Buddhist gompas (monasteries) are the main attractions of Ladakh, Visit Lamayuru, Phiyang, Hemis, and Chemrey, Monasteries, evening at leisure.

Day at leisure, or as per your suggestion.

Day 5:: Leh >Delhi [B]
Breakfast at hotel, depart back Delhi by early morning flight with long lasting memories.
