Aguada Fort

This famous fort of Goa was built to protect the northern shores of the Mandovi estuary from Dutch and Maratha raiders. It had 79 cannon guns strategically placed that could be fired in all directions. A 19th century built lighthouse is situated inside the fortress. The fort has been converted into a beach resort. Fort Aguada Beach Resort makes for a stunning sight from the elegant terraces to the emerald gardens below. The Fort Aguada Beach Resort is famous on account of this Fort that has partially survived the ravages of time.
