Gun Hill

The Gun Hill is the second highest peak in Mussoorie.It offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges namely Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara, Gangotri Group etc. and a bird’s-eye view of the Mussoorie town and Doon Valley. The Gun Hill can be reached via a Ropeway, it is also accessible by bridle path which forks-off from Mall Road near Kutchery and it takes about twenty minutes to reach there.

The Ropeway distance is 400 Mts. and the sheer thrill of the ride is memorable. It’s history dates back to the pre-independence days when a gun mounted on "The Gun Hill" used to be fired addressing mid-day to enable people to adjust their watches and hence this name.
