Saheliyon ki Bari or Garden for the Maids of Honour of the queen is at Saheli Marg on the eastern banks of Lake Fateh Sagar. Built by Maharana Sangram Singh, this garden has beautiful fountains, pools with delicately chiseled kiosks and elephants in marble. There is a delightful Lotus pool and a sitting room decorated with paintings and glass mosaics. There is a children's museum nearby.

In this garden you can see four black marbled cenotaphs with a bird shaped fountain on the top and water sprinkling from the beak of the bird. These black marble cenotaphs are built on four different sides and has a white center marbled cenotaph. As you begin the fountains they sprinkle thin rays of water matching itself to the rhythm of music. The Maharana wanted to create a notion that the fountain is dancing along with the musical note.
These fountains are imported from England in 1889. Around these fountains and pools the Maharana or the kings of Udaipur relaxed themselves. Apart from the shiny white crystalloid fountains you can have a brisk walk on the shady green lawns while the clusters of bougainvillea will bend down to greet you. The king of Udaipur Maharana Sangram Singh II wanted to build a luxurious garden or a summer palace where he can relax with the 48 young maids that were presented to him as a wedding dowry.
