About Pench
The Pench National Park, located in the border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, is one of the richest of wildlife parks in India because of the profusion of flora and fauna and a wide variety of wildlife. This is the place which was the inspiration of Rudyard Kipling which made him write one of the greatest of the stories, the Jungle Book. The Pench National Park named after the Pench River that flows nearby, was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1983. The Pench National Park was also included under the 'Project Tiger' in 1992 and is one of the most significant accessible tiger reserves of the country. It is easily accessible by road and railways and is open from early November to the end of June, and is closed during the rainy seasons.
