Nagaur lies midway between Jodhpur and Bikaner. The area is arid and known for farming communities such as Jats and Bishnois. The place is mainly noteworthy for the rustic rural charm and colorful life seen on the way. The most interesting sight is that of the red chillies being dried in open fields.
The town of Nagaur has a very impressive fort and a beautiful tourist camp of luxury tents is pitched in its premises. A stay in the camp offers a unique experience evocative of the times when Maharajas used to camp on their outstation travels. Nagaur also has some noteworthy mosques.
