Best time to visit: Wildlife sightings are maximum between March and June. Between September and November, the weather is good, but suitable only if you are not keen on spotting wildlife. The Corbett National Park remains closed between end-June and November 15.

About Corbett
The Corbett Park is first national park of India established in the year 1936 it was named Hailey National Park. In 1957, the park was rechristened as the Corbett National Park in the memory of Late Jim Corbett great naturalist, eminent conservationist. It is 118 Kms. from Nainital via Kaladhungi & Ramnagar.
The Corbett national park covering an area of 521 Sq. Kms. is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas. It spreads over parts of two districts, a major part of park with an area of 312.86 sq. Kms. falls in Pauri Garhwal district and the balance 208.14 sq. Kms. in Nainital district. The park occupies portions of Kalagarh and Ramnagar forest divisions. It falls within the trek of land known as Paltidun.
When you think of tigers, you think of Corbett. Corbett is beautiful destination for wildlife safari and a perfect place to spot the tigers. The major attractions are the tigers, the tall sturdy Sal trees line an otherwise bare terrain where fireflies lick at the darkness, the smells of the forest and sounds of the river, winding road leads along a dirty, unkempt town which transforms swiftly into wilderness.

By Air:
Phoolbagh, Pantnagar at a distance of 50-kms is the nearest airport. Delhi at a distance of 300-kms is the nearest international airport.
By Rail:
Ramnagar is on the broad gauge track from where the road transport options have to be availed to reach the park. For faster trains and connections to other parts change at Moradabad.
By Road:
Dhikala is 300-kms from Delhi, 145-kms from Lucknow and 51-kms from Ramnagar. The route from Delhi spans Hapur-Murababad-Ramnagar. The turn off is some 7-kms beyond Muradabad to the left, marked by a small board. The route from Lucknow spans Bareilly, Kichha, Rudrapur, Doraha, and Kashipur. Ramnagar is served by frequent buses to and from Nainital and Ranikhet, 112-kms north. Buses arrive every half hour or so after the eight hour trip from Delhi; Delhi Transport Corporation run a semi deluxe service and most of the alternatives are pretty basic.
